Makeup/Clothing/Jewellery Haul

Hello! I'm sorry I haven't posted a lot recently! I've recently gone shopping, and here are some things that I have bought.

So, recently I've been really into jewellery, as it's never usually something I'm too bothered about! Although I'm really starting to get into it.
  • The first (top) item is a rose gold coloured chain bracelet, from Topshop. I've been looking for something like this for ages, and it was half price! Originally £7.50, it came to only £3.75!
  • The next to pieces are from Forever21, which has so much amazing jewellery! On the left, are two gold cuff bracelets, one plain and the other with stud detailing. I absolutely love these, although I may need to squeeze them tighter, having tiny wrists! These cuff bracelets were £6.65.
  • I also picked up these amazing silver earrings, which were only £2.40 - SO cheap! They are gorgeous, and I know I will get a lot of wear out of them. Oh and yes, I did buy three bits of jewellery, which are all different coloured metals, haha!

Next are the makeup items that I've purchased:
  • The first are the Eyelure Nadine False Eyelashes, which were priced at £5.49. I specifically got these for my prom, which is less than a month away! I liked these ones out of the range, because they were not too long, but flared out at the outer corners, which I like!
  • I next picked up the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, in 'transparent'. I've been looking around for powders, and was considering buying the Mac Mineralised Skin Finish Natural, but have heard good things about this powder, and is priced at only £3.99! It's a really great powder, at a fraction of the price of ones along the lines of mac!
  • The next items I picked up were these two Rimmel Kate Moss Lipsticks, both priced at £5.49. I originally just wanted the nude colour (03), but all Rimmel products were 3 for 2, so I picked up the dark red (107) too. I've so far only tried the nude colour (which appearing much more pink in the pictures!), but so far I absolutely love it. I have never found a nude lipstick which suits me, except this one!

Lastly, the only clothing item I purchased!:
  • I've been after this top for absolutely ages! - Mainly to wear with my navy disco pants. I was deciding out of the purple colour, or black, but I chose black as it will go with anything! Also, depending on how much wear I get out of it, I could always pick up a couple more colours. This is a high-neck, cropped t-shirt, perfect to wear with anything high waisted. It was £10, not the cheapest for a t-shirt, but I really love it anyway!

So that's about it for my haul, thankyou for reading!

What's your favourite purchase you've made recently?

January Makeup/Beauty Favourites

Hello! So, these are just a few products that I have been using and loving in the month of January.

  • First being the Soap and Glory 'Thick & Fast' Mascara. I received this in a large bag of Soap and Glory bits for Christmas, and I was pleasantly surprised! I use this mainly as a second mascara, just to thicken the outer lashes, which works really well.
  • The second product is the L'Oreal 'Color Riche' Pencil Eyeliner. I've been on the hunt for a dark brown eyeliner for tightlining my eyes for quite a while now, and I found this one priced at around £4.50, which is good considering it's SO soft and pigmented! You literally have to line your eyes once with this pencil, with no harsh scraping to get any colour pay off! I wanted a brown eyeliner as I find black to be a little harsh sometimes, especially for school.
  • The next favourite is an Essie nail polish in 'Bahama Mama', it's a gorgeous deep red/Burgundy colour, which is pretty wintery, so I've been using this as much as I can before the winter ends! Essie nail polishes are priced at around £8.00, which isn't cheap for a nail polish but they apply amazingly and don't streak at all. Also, the brush on Essie nail polishes are so large that you literally need 1-2 swipes!

  • The last product has been a favourite of mine for months actually, but seeing as I've got a brand new pot of it, I thought I'd mention it! This is the Bobbi Brown Corrector in 'Bisque'. If you are unaware of what a corrector does, you apply it underneath your eyes to get rid of any dark circles/brighten the eye area. You are recommended to use the concealer over the top, but it works so well on its own! Also, I can't really afford to use the concealer over the top - priced at £18.00 anyway! The corrector on its own is also £18.00, but has lasted me ages. It's a salmony toned colour, which cancels out blue tones under the eyes, also meaning you only need a tiny amount!

Anyway, thank you so much for reading! What have been your favourite beauty items in January?

Liebster Award!

Hello!

So I don't know if you've heard of a 'Liebster Award' before, as being new to blogging I didn't know a lot about it either, but I've recently found out I've been nominated, by Dave Ole from MaleFashionUK - So thank you so much for that! The main idea behind it, is that smaller blogs are nominated, meaning they can be discovered and recognised!

The Rules:
- State 11 random facts about yourself.
- Answer 11 questions (made by the person that nominated you).
- Nominate new blogs (with under 200 followers) and ask them 11 questions.

My Facts:
1. I live in the South of England.
2. I am currently in year 11 at secondary school (16 year old).
3. I love food! I am a big foodie person (if you get what I mean), and I will pretty much eat anything given to me - not fussy at all!
4. I am OBSESSED with youtube! I watch many people, from beauty gurus to comedians, my favourites being: BeautyCrush, Zoella, SprinkleOfGlitter, UglyfaceOfBeauty, Glamerdoll (a best friend in real life!), Danisnotonfire, PointlessBlog, OfficialSamPepper, Crabstickz, and so many more!
5. I am generally a shy person in 'real life', of course it depends who I'm with, but when meeting new people I am pretty quiet. Let's just say I'm a very different person around my friends, family and people I'm comfortable with than others!
6. I love doing things, and going places! I often forget to plan things for the weekend but I hate staying cooped up, as I feel I'm wasting the day! Although I do NOT like waking up early haha, I'm awful in the morning!
7. I am a very creative person, although I'm not bad academic-wise, I just enjoy creative things and subjects, such as English, Art (although not particularly gcse art), Photography etc.
8. I LOVE shopping, and I know this is pretty much a typical girl thing to like, but I could have a full-on shopping spree every weekend If I had the money! I love to make a day of it, with lunch and coffee break included!;)
9. I love anything to do with interior design. I love re-decorating my bedroom, and buying little bits for it!
10. My favourite animal are cats - I love them and have two, they're so cute!
11. I can't WAIT to leave school, I do not like it one bit and am looking forward to leaving and starting college! (Although, I doubt that will be too much better, there are definitely some advantages!)

Dave's questions:
1. Describe yourself in 3 words.
Oo, this is hard! Hmm, a sense of humour (Okay not 1 word, but I usually find something funny in most situations!), creative/artistic, and a bit awkward sometimes.
2. What is your biggest 'Pet Peeve'?
I have so many pet peeves, I could write a whole blog post on them actually! (Maybe I will;) ), but first ones I can think of are very loud eaters, and when someone constantly sniffs or coughs when in an exam especially!
3. From 1 - 10 (1 being the lowest, 10 being the highest) how important is fashion to you?
Hmm, I'd say around 8, I love fashion, but I also love other things, such as Makeup, haha!
4. What are your plans for the future?
Umm, that's quite tricky! Well in the near-future I'm going to be starting college and hopefully getting a job quite soon.
5. Favourite place to go on holidays?
One of my favourite holidays was to Greece, but to be honest I enjoy every holiday I go on!
6. Dogs or Cats?
Cats, DEFINITELY! I love dogs too, but I've grown up with cats so I guess I'm just naturally drawn to them, if that makes sence!
7. What is your favourite thing to blog about and why?
Well, I've only had my blog a few weeks so far, and have written around 5 blog posts, but they've been heavily based around makeup and beauty products - so definitely that!
8. Why did you decide to start writing a blog?
I just read lots of other fashion and beauty blogs, and thought why not give it a go?!
9. Who is your favourite celebrity?
Hmm, I have a few favourites actually, but one that sticks out to me is Cherry Healey. I don't quite know why but I love her! I watch all of her programs on TV.
10. What is your favourite perfume/aftershave?
My favourite perfume is Lady Million by Paco Robanne. I have a few others favourites too, such as Marc Jacobs Eau So Fresh, and Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy.
11. Who is the person you can always rely on ?
Oooo, I'd have to say my mum!

My questions:
1. What is your favourite blog to read?
2. What is your favourite quality about yourself?
3. Which season do you like the best?
4. What's your guilty pleasure?
5. What is one (or a few) of your favourite films?
6. What are some of your biggest pet peeves?
7. On average, how many hours do you spend on the Internet a day? :O haha.
8. Who is your biggest style/fashion inspiration?
9. What is your star sign?
10. Favourite drink at Starbucks? (Or any other coffee shop)
11. What's your favourite thing to buy when shopping? E.g. makeup, clothing etc.

the-fashion-underdog

Thank you so much for reading, I hope you know a little bit more about me now, and that the people I nominated could answer the questions too! Also thank you to David Ole for nominating me! - I definitely recommend his blog too!

Current Perfume - Paco Robanne Lady Million

Hello! So since Christmas I've been meaning to write a post on my new favourite perfume; Paco Robanne Lady Million.
I've been eyeing up this perfume for months now, testing it everytime I go into department stores, and I recieved it as a Christmas present!
I'm pretty sure the first thing that drew me to this perfume was the gorgeous bottle! It's very loud, gaudy and maybe a little excessive ;) - But I love it! I love the fact that everything about the perfume is gold - the lid, the glass and the perfume liquid itself!
I recieved the 30ml bottle, which unlike the larger bottles, has a detachable lid. The other bottle sizes do not have a lid, but a button that presses down on top. I personally like the fact that this has a lid as I can carry it around in my handbag without worrying about the button being accidently pressed down, therefore leaking in my bag - Haha!
I'm not amazing at guessing scents but by smelling it myself I get strong sweet, floral notes. It's SO lovely and can be worn day or night, in my opinion!

The real scents in the perfume are: Fresh top notes of bitter orange, fleshy raspberry and neroli, followed by floral notes of orange blossom and Arabian jasmine and base notes of patchouli, honey and amber. So I guess I wasn't too wrong!

So that's that, all I can say is this is my absolute favourite perfume in my collection, without a doubt! This is the 'au de Parfum' and therefore is strong, and the smells lasts nearly all day! It's lovely, and is definitely one of those perfumes that you look forward to spraying everyday!

Have you tried Lady Million? If not, what's your favourite perfume at the moment?

Lovely Bath and Shower Essentials

For Christmas, I received a big bag full of gorgeous 'Soap And Glory' products. It is amazing, and included everything from bath/shower items and makeup, to foot cream. I haven't tried all of them yet, but one thing I can say is that they smell absolutely incredible!

This leads me on to the products I use in the Bath/Shower - which actually makes me look forward to showering!

Group Photo - Smile everyone ;)

This is the first product I use in the shower, it is the Soap and Glory 'Sugar Crush' Body Scrub, and let me tell you this smells amazing! After hearing good things about the scent, I smelt it in Boots, although wasn't particularly fussed. After receiving this in the gift-set, I used it and oh-my-gosh, something about actually using it in the shower... It's just amazing!

The scent is 'Smashes Brown Sugar', 'Sweet Lime', 'Almond Oil', and 'Macadamia Grains'. If you are a particular fan of either sweet or citrus scents, then this is definitely for you.

Now onto the actual purpose of the product - Exfoliating. It does a great job of scrubbing away dead skin (yuck), and leaves your skin very, very soft.

Next, is the 'Clean On Me' Creamy Shower Gel. This is lovely and has the signature 'Soap and Glory' scent. Unlike most shower gels, this is very, very moisturising and leaves my skin feeling uber soft and moisturised (as I have naturally quite dry skin).

This is a huuuge bottle at 500ml, and will last me forever! (Well maybe not at the rate I'm using it!)

Lastly in my little shower routine, is this 'Smoothie Star Deep Moisture Body Milk'. This is another incredible scent, as is very strongly scented as Almond, Cocoa, Yoghurt, Oat and Honey. These are my all time favourite smells in Body products, so was very pleased with this!

As it states 'Body Milk' I was expecting this to be a little more runny and messy, but it is in fact quite a thick lotion - which I was much more pleased about. This is now my favourite part of showering, as it leaves my skin incredibly smooth and soft, as well as being left with a lingering scent of almond and cocoa afterwards!

I highly recommend all of these products, they are all sold in Boots, and are relatively affordable prices - which is always a plus.

A Few Christmas Photos

So today is Boxing Day, and I hope that everyone has had a lovely Christmas! I definately did, and recieved some lovely presents. Going through the photos I took on the day, I thought I'd show a couple here, to give you a little view into my Christmas - well some decorations anyway. ;)

My first Christmas decoration, given to me as a baby. How cute!
Was this photo really neccesary?! Haha.

And why not add some photos of my two babies?! (Cats to anyone else, haha.)

My lovely 17 year old cat! I think he looks adorable here.
And my naughty 3 year old cat, looking grumpy (due to a camera being shoved in his face?!)
Anyway, that was just a few the photos that I took, I hope you had fun at Christmas, and have an amazing 2013!

Festive, Glitter Nails

So, Christmas is just round the corner, and I thought I would paint my nails these gorgeous festive colours. I two Barry M colours, 'Raspberry' and 'Yellow Topaz Glitter', and they work perfectly together, especially for this time of year!

I have tried to create a gradient glitter effect, inspired purely by a 'Sprinkleofglitter' video, that she posted a while back now! I have been meaning to try the technique out ever since watching it, but I thought Christmas was the perfect excuse! ;)

The two colours I used, 'Yellow Topaz Glitter' (left) and 'Raspberry' (right)

I started off by painting just one coat of 'Raspberry' to my nails, which is already gorgeous on it's own. I then, after waiting for that to dry, painting a fine coat the glitter polish from around half my nail, to the tips. After that had completely dried (very important!), I painted another coat of glitter from around a quater of the way down, to the tips. I then painted a very small amount again, only to the tips.

How gorgeous is this glitter polish?! It's mainly gold glitter but has multi-coloured irridesent glitter in it.

My nails finished, baring in mind this photo does NOT do it justice!

Anyway, that's my nails done. I loved doing this, and I do not have a steady hand, so am not brilliant at nail art, although anyone can do this! If I can, then you definately can. :)

The 'Pretty Quik' nail varnish remover, sold in places such as Boots.
Oops, and I nearly forgot! If you've ever used glitter nail polish, you will know what an absolute pain it is to remove! This nail varnish remover is great as you just dip your nail in, swirl it around a bit and remove. No nail polish remover will get rid of glitter quickly, but this one is pretty good!
